Elton John halftime tribute fires up the ’Shoe

Ohio Stadium was rocking to an outsized appreciation of the Rocket Man Saturday.

After their first break of the season following five consecutive shows, The Ohio State University Marching Band returned to the ’Shoe for an electric tribute to Elton John.

TBDBITL was joined by the University of Iowa Hawkeye Marching Band to perform some of John’s greatest hits. Between the combined bands, there were more than 425 students on the field during the performance.

Together, the bands performed “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man” and “I’m Still Standing.” Their formations included a piano, beating hearts, two women dancing and John’s iconic sunglasses.
