A dozen UCI faculty members have qualified for Clarivate’s 2023 list of the most influential researchers – as “demonstrated by the production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1 percent by citations for field and year.”

They are Amir AghaKouchak of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; James S. Bullock of the Department of Physics and Astronomy (dean of the School of Physical Sciences); Steven J. Davis and James T. Randerson of the Department of Earth System Science; Greg J. Duncan of the School of Education; Susan M. O’Brien, Sai-Hong Ignatius Ou and Nosratola D. Vaziri of the Department of Medicine; Xiaoqing Pan of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering; Vojislav R. Stamenkovic of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering; Julian F. Thayer of the Department of Psychological Science; and Huolin Xin, Department of Physics and Astronomy.
