University community reports honors

For the Record provides information about recent professional activities and honors of University of Delaware faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Recent honors include the following:

Honors

Ameerah Stafford, associate director of the Education Resource Center (ERC), was awarded a Delaware Library Association Community Engagement Grant in the amount of $500. The award will assist in programs and activities to support "Read Aloud and Puppetry: Practical Interventions for High Needs Students," a new initiative that will help expand the ERC’s curriculum materials collection with culturally responsive and trauma-informed resources to better support teacher candidates.

The Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics has presented the following awards to its faculty and staff: Outstanding Junior Faculty, Tim Webb, assistant professor of hospitality business management; Outstanding Teacher, Laura Gasiorowski, assistant professor of entrepreneurship; Outstanding Faculty Scholar, Jennifer R. Joe, Whitney Family Professor of Accounting, Cohen Family Lerner Director of Diversity, Chief Diversity Advocate; Outstanding Faculty Service, Bonnie Meszaros, assistant professor of economics, associate director of the Center for Economics Education and Entrepreneurship; Staff Excellence in Service, Amy Estey, academic program coordinator; Staff Innovation, Kim Ragan, events manager; Leon and Margaret Slocomb Professional Excellence Award, Tricia Monnig, manager of academic enrichment; Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member, Dianne Leipold, instructor in management and Jonathan Scott, adjunct faculty; Graduating MBA Students’ MBA Teaching Award, Daniel Sullivan, professor of management, with honorable mention for Fei Xie, Chaplin Tyler Professor of Finance, Iannacocone Faculty Fellow; and Students’ Choice Excellence in Teaching Award, Roger Coffin, director of corporate affairs, professor of practice, Max Dolinsky, assistant professor of finance, and Thomas Vermeer, professor of accounting.
