UD Police investigate robbery and assault in residence hall

University of Delaware Police are investigating a reported assault and robbery of a student in Harrington Hall A.

Police were called to the residence hall just before 1 a.m. on Thursday, May 19; a male student reported he was chased and beaten by a group of men who subsequently stole his phone. The incident is believed to be an isolated one; the alleged assailants specifically targeted the victim for reasons of a personal nature. 

UDPD is interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues. Residence Life staff members are offering support to concerned residents. 

Members of the University community are reminded to be vigilant: If you see something, say something. Call 911 to report suspicious activity.
